Ecological thinning operations will begin on Upper Bull Gap Trail in the Ashland Watershed and continue through the month of November. Upper Bull Gap Trail and all other trails will remain open. Please exercise caution by slowing down. Our project partners Lomakatsi Restoration Project will have spotters there to help direct bike and hike traffic. Read more about the project on our website www.ashlandwatershed.org.
Ashland Forest Restoration Stewardship Project partners: Lomakatsi Restoration Project, The Nature Conservancy in Oregon, U.S. Forest Service- Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and City of Ashland Oregon work on the 10-year community based stewardship project. Our community collaborative forest restoration project reduces the risk of severe wildfire across public and private land in and around the Ashland Watershed. We work to protect old trees, wildlife habitat, homes, trails and our water source by thinning overcrowded forests and conducting controlled burns.
