High Bacteria Levels in Ashland Creek

Due to recent high bacteria levels in Ashland Creek, do not bathe, swim or wade in water.
Bacteria and parasites are present in every open body of water (ponds, creeks, rivers, lakes) at all times. Currently, there is an elevated level of E. coli bacteria and it is strongly recommended that no one wade, bathe or swim in Ashland Creek, near the children's playground in Lithia Park.
Please do not hesitate to contact Ashland Parks and Recreation Commission (APRC) with questions: 541.488.5340, You may also contact the Jackson County Health Department at 541.774.8206 for further information.
APRC will continue to re-evaluate water quality and lift the ban, if possible, later this spring.
