Controlled Burn off Upper Strawberry Lane

A small controlled burn on 3 acres will take place today, Tuesday April 10th on upper Strawberry Lane above Ashland. A crew from Lomakatsi Restoration Project will actively manage the burn in the hills above the city limits for wildfire safety. We donít expect smoke to impact town, though hikers in the Hitt Road area and homes on upper Strawberry, Birdsong, and Westwood streets may smell light smoke today.

Check our controlled burn page and see the AFR Blog on pile burning to learn more.
