Tuesday, March 13th, 2018 - Four Controlled Burns Planned - Ashland Mine Road, Acid Castles, Upper Tolman Creek
Ashland Forest Resiliency Partners will be conducting three controlled burns tomorrow.
Ashland Mine Road - Smoke will be visible from Interstate 5 and west side of Ashland near the railroad overpass
Acid Castle Rocks - Hitt Road and the surrounding neighborhood off Strawberry Lane could smell or see smoke
Upper Tolman Creek Road - Smoke could be visible around the Tolman Creek area
East side of Watershed - Smoke will impact U.S. Forest Service lands off Forest Service Road 2080 a 1/2 mile before the Eastview Trailhead
Controlled burns will be managed by crews from Lomakatsi Restoration Project. Controlled burns under safe conditions reduce the risk of severe summer wildfires and protect our forests, water supply, economy, and community. Recently, AFR Partners published a blog on the benefits of pile burning.
