The Rogue Valley Council of Governments has partnered with the City of Ashland to implement a community bike share program called “Rogue Bike Share”.
On August 17th, stations in Ashland were installed at the YMCA, on Siskiyou & Glendale, and on the Downtown Plaza. The week of September 24th, three more stations will be added to Ashland’s system at SOU, Safeway, and Growler Guys on Lithia Way. The program is targeted to residents, college students, tourists, and transit users – and is free for low-income individuals enrolled in public assistance programs (SNAP/TANF/Medicaid).
Funding has been obtained to operate the program for the next 2-3 years from ODOT, RVTD, the City of Ashland, and SOU. Rogue Bike Share in Ashland will be used as a pilot project to inform future expansion of bike share into other communities in the Rogue Valley.
