Helicopter Operations to End this Friday

End of Helicopter Operations
The Ashland Forest Resiliency and our partners with Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, The Nature Conservancy, Lomakatsi Restoration Project and The City of Ashland are pleased to announce that helicopter operations will end this Friday, June 30th.  Despite difficult winter weather the project stayed on schedule thanks to diligent project managers with Lomakatsi.

Beginning Friday Evening, June 30th
The area north of 4 Corners, as well as the Catwalk and Upper Eastview trails will once again be open. Roads closed under this order will reopen including Tolman Creek Road to allow access to Four Corners and trailheads.

Recreating Safely through Summer
Work (ground-based yarding) is ongoing in the area around Lower Bull Gap trail.  A detour will be in place Monday-Friday in the coming weeks for access to Upper Missing Link via Forest Service Road 200. The detour will be clearly marked for recreationists and may last three weeks.  Please check ashlandwatershed.org for updates.  Lower Bull Gap Trail will be open on weekends, when yarding isn't occurring. The AFR partnership will notify the public when this detour is effective.

There is also a detour around Lower Eastview; recreationists are being diverted to Tolman Creek Road for safety reasons during ground-based operations.

People are encouraged to remain aware of the continued project activity in the area: drive slowly on roads and always be prepared for oncoming vehicles, including log trucks as they continue to haul down Tolman Creek Road.

Thank you for your patience and support as we complete projects to reduce the fire danger in the Ashland watershed; our source for drinking water, recreation and wildlife habitat.
