Update: An emergency shelter for Sunday, December 18th has now been added.
A forecast of near freezing temperatures has prompted the City of Ashland and local shelter volunteers to offer an emergency shelter on the following days:
- Friday, December 16, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and continuing to 7:30 a.m. Saturday in Pioneer Hall at 73 Winburn Way.
- Saturday, December 17, the shelter will be located at First Presbyterian Church Calvin Hall, 1615 Clark Ave. (corner of Walker Ave. & Siskiyou). This location will be open beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
- Sunday, December 18, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and continuing to 7:30 a.m. Monday in Pioneer Hall at 73 Winburn Way.
The shelter is open to anyone who needs to get out of the weather. Guests wishing to stay in the shelter overnight must arrive no later than 9:30 p.m. Children and families, as well as dogs, are welcome in the shelter. Drugs, alcohol and weapons are not permitted in the shelter. Disorderly conduct and threatening or abusive language will not be tolerated. Disorderly, threatening or abusive guests will be required to leave and may not be re-admitted. Smoking is not permitted in Pioneer Hall or any other City buildings.
