Local Man Arrested For Murder
Detectives from the Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) are investigating the murder of an Ashland man.
Pedro Sabalsa Mendez (22) was arrested on the charge of Murder and will soon be lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
On November 6th at about 1:00am, Ashland officers responded to the 200-block of Strawberry Lane after police dispatch received a 911 call advising someone was stabbed.  Officers arrived to find a male at a nearby driveway suffering from multiple stab wounds.  Life saving efforts were unsuccessful and Avi Feldman (20), of Ashland, died at the scene.  His family has been notified of his death.
Officers located Pedro Sabalsa Mendez near the crime scene and he was arrested without incident.
