Assault 1st Degree Arrest
On Monday, September 19, 2016 at approximately 7:40 p.m. the Ashland police received reports of several subjects fighting near the front entrance to Lithia Park. Responding officers identified four people who were involved in the altercation, and all four were detained as the investigation progressed. Ashland Fire and Rescue responded and treated the injured parties.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, named below, became involved in a physical altercation with one of the victims. During the altercation the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the male victim multiple times. The female victim attempted to intervene and was stabbed as well. Both of the victims were transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center. Both were treated and remain at RRMC in stable condition. Ashland officers were assisted by members of the Talent PD, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police in responding to this incident. APD detectives responded and remain in charge of the investigation.
The suspect has been lodged on two counts of assault in the first degree, a class A felony.
The suspect has been identified as Robert Quinn, a 64 year old male from Reno, NV. However, the suspect’s identity is being further investigated as he may have given officers an alias.
