Ashland Fire & Rescue presents the fourth annual Ashland is Ready (AIR) on Saturday, September 10, 12-5 at the Rogue River Room in the Stevenson Union on SOU’s campus. AIR helps you to “Be Informed” and to “Get a Kit.” Each participant will take away an emergency kit worth more than $30. Registration is $10 required in advance.
Seating is limited to 400. Tickets will be on sale Monday, August 15 and are anticipated to sell out. You may register by calling 541.482.2770 or in person at Ashland Fire & Rescue Station 1, 455 Siskiyou Boulevard between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Vendors featuring emergency supplies and tips will be available at 12:00 noon, on breaks and after the session. The workshop will be presented from 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Door prizes will be given out during a drawing during the workshop.
The workshop will include presentations about Ashland's Seismic Risks by Dr. Althea Rizzo from Oregon Emergency Management, Fires & Floods, Citizen Alert, Weather Emergencies, and a few more emergency preparedness topics.
Emergency kits will only be provided to those in attendance with tickets.
The kit will include emergency supplies such as water, first aid kit, food rations, flashlight, towelettes, survival blanket and more. More information is available at www.ashland.or.us/air
