Siskiyou de Mayo: A World Music Festival

The Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC) is excited to announce a new event coming to Lithia Park in the spring of 2016… Siskiyou de Mayo: A World Music Festival. This FREE, outdoor festival will celebrate multiculturalism with international music and dance, and is sure to entertain all ages and a multiplicity of musical interests! 
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 1 to 6 p.m. at the Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park (150 Winburn Way). Our first annual line-up will feature: the Frankie Hernandez Band, Salsa Brava, Maraval Road Steel Band, Ka Pi’o O Ke Anuenue performing with Ha’ena, Unity African Drum and Dance, Rutendo Marimba, and T Poe and The Rogue Poets. Gather the family and friends, pack a picnic and stay for the entire afternoon!
Take advantage of our shuttle service and avoid the hassle of parking downtown!  Main Street Tours will be providing FREE pick-up and drop-off services from multiple locations around Ashland including Bi-Mart, SOU, The Grove, Mountain Meadows and the downtown Plaza!  
This first annual event is sponsored by 106.3 The Valley; Reel House Films;  Full Circle Real Estate, JPR (Jefferson Public Radio); Main Street Tours; Jim Chamberlain and Rands Art Design, who will be on-site producing T-shirts for the new event in their mobile print shop! The shirts will sport the event logo that was created by illustrator and designer, Rose Cassano, and will be available for purchase, starting at $15/ea (cash only please).
