The Forest Lands Commission will hold a public open house and review of the draft 2016 Ashland Forest Plan on April 20th, 7pm at Fire Station #2 (1860 Ashland St). The plan addresses just over 1,100 acres of City and Parks Commission managed forests in town and the Ashland watershed. The Forest Lands Commission and City staff have spent thousands of hours compiling data, maps, history, and research to update the 1992 Ashland Forest Plan to address forest health, wildlife habitat, fire hazard, and recreation with a focus on monitoring and reporting results to inform future needs.
A short presentation at 7pm will be followed by opportunities to ask questions of commissioners and the City's contract forester on specific topics.
