Plaza and Winburn Way improvements set to begin
The City of Ashland has contracted with Banyan Tree Landscape Construction to provide landscape and hardscape improvements at the corner of Winburn Way and North Main Street and on the Plaza. The Winburn Way and North Main Street improvements will include the installation of a concrete seat wall, expanded irrigation and additional plants to the existing raised planter and an expanded curb line and handicap ramp at the corner crosswalk to Lithia Park. On the Plaza, three free-standing planters with irrigation will be placed near the curb line across from City Hall. More than 50 new plants and annuals will be added to the existing Plaza beds.
Work is expected to begin this week and both projects should be completed by the end of April.
These projects were recommended by the Downtown Beautification Committee in 2014 and approved by the City Council. The projects will be paid for with funds generated from the transient occupancy tax allocated for capital improvements.
