Small Controlled Burn at Terrace St and Ashland Loop Rd on Friday

The City's forestry contractor Small Woodland Services will burn a small number of brush piles Friday morning (today) at the intersection of Terrace St and Ashland Loop Road. The small number of piles will be done burning by noon though smoke will be lingering in the area for the rest of the day.

The piles were created as part of the City's efforts on City-owned land to protect adjacent homes and the upslope Ashland Watershed from a summer wildfire. The City has been operating since 1995 under the Ashland Forest Plan, which is currently being rewritten by the Forest Lands Commission.
