EMERGENCY PREPARED BUSINESS DESIGNATION AWARDED TO ASHLAND’S MAIN STREET INN
Ashland Fire & Rescue is pleased to announce Ashland’s Main Street Inn has been awarded the Emergency Prepared Business of 2015. Lynn Louie, owner-operator, completed the Emergency Prepared Business program with Ashland Fire & Rescue enhancing the overall safety of her business and ensuring continuity of operations should Ashland’s Main Street Inn suffer a catastrophe or otherwise be negatively affected by a natural disaster.
Ashland’s Main Street Inn is now better prepared to deal with guests in these types of situations as well. The innkeeper, Lynn Louie, has implemented many new procedures for keeping her guests well informed and safe during their stay in Ashland, including policies that address security, evacuations, and how to account for everyone; and expansion of and inventory controls on emergency supplies.
Lynn hopes this planning will help her weather any crises for the travelers’ accommodations, an especially important endeavor for a small business.
This award marks the second business to complete the Emergency Prepared Business program since its inception in 2014.
The 2016 Emergency Prepared Business sessions begin today. Sessions will be held the second Tuesday monthly through October beginning at 10:00AM at Ashland Fire Station 1. Sessions last up to two hours depending on topic. Topics include, but are not limited to, emergencies, facilities, communications, responsibilities, creating an action plan and safety statement, vital records, continuity planning, security, and drills and exercises.
