Safely and Compliantly Grow Marijuana for Personal Use
In the last two years there have been significant changes to laws, both locally and on the state level, that impact citizens' ability to grow marijuana for personal use. In the last two years there have also been several incidents that have presented very dangerous situations in residential neighborhoods involving the unsafe production of marijuana for personal use. These incidents have involved the use of explosive materials, and the unsafe use of electricity.
In effort to ensure safety for the entire community several departments from the City of Ashland are coming together to offer a free educational opportunity for interested members of the community. This class will address several topics to allow citizens to safely and compliantly grow marijuana for personal use.
These topics will include:
• safe and responsible use of electricity
• responsible use of water
• staying compliant with new state laws and new city ordinances
• why hash oil production at home is dangerous
The presenters for this event will be members of the City of Ashland staff, including representatives from Ashland Fire and Rescue, the Ashland Police Department, Community Development, Conservation and other departments.
