Officers from the Ashland Police Department will be dashing down the aisles of Wal-Mart this Saturday with an energetic group of Ashland kids. APD Officers will volunteer their time to take 17 underprivileged children holiday shopping. The purpose of the event is to give the kids a happier holiday season and an opportunity to interact with law enforcement officers in a positive setting. Each of the kids will be given over $100 to spend on themselves.
Ashland Police Officers have participated in the Shop with a Cop project since 2010, and this year received $2000 in donations. The Lithia Springs Rotary Club of Ashland donated $1000 and Wal-Mart donated the other $1000. Special thanks to St. Vincent de Paul for introducing these wonderful kids to the police department.
The event will take place at the south Medford Wal-Mart located at 1360 Center Drive.
