Please join the Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC) on Wednesday, November 18, to celebrate a new Torii Gate and Teahouse in the Japanese Garden of Ashland’s 93-acre Lithia Park. “The impetus to replace the gate was spearheaded by a generous local donation, which prompted us to rehabilitate the Teahouse at the same time,” stated APRC Parks Superintendent, Bruce Dickens, who oversaw both projects. The Torii Gate is a replacement of an earlier gate from years ago while the Teahouse, originally built in the early 80s, was deteriorating.
The ribbon-cutting celebration will begin at 2 p.m. and conclude with a tea ceremony demonstration. For more information on APRC, please visit www.AshlandParksandRec.org
