Oak Street Temporary Closure Scheduled
The Oregon Department of Transportation has ordered the Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad (CORP) to construct improvements at the Oak Street railroad crossing, consisting of sidewalks and concrete surfacing.
Preparations for the railroad’s portion of work has already begun, with construction commencing on Friday, September 25. A full closure of Oak Street is required to perform the work.
In order to perform this work and minimize the disruption to local traffic, the city is allowing CORP’s contractor, RailWorks, to close Oak Street at 8:00 pm on Friday, and work straight through the weekend, re-opening Oak Street on Monday morning at 12:00 PM.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, and hope that the new sidewalks and roadway surface will be a significant improvement and an asset to the community.
