Urban Composting Classes

The Conservation Commission and Recology Ashland are sponsoring free urban composting classes. There will be four classes total, two basic (beginner) classes, one advanced class, and one featuring vermi-compost and the new Bokashi method.

Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Recycle Center located at 220 Water Street.


Basic ClassJune 20th or July 18th. Learn to compost food scraps & organic yard debris.

Advanced ClassAugust 15th. General knowledge of composting is required.

NEW Bokashi method & Vermi (Worm) Composting ClassSeptember 12th. Both methods are great ways to make nutrient-rich fertilizer indoors or in limited spaces.


Classes are FREE, thanks to the sponsorship of the City of Ashland Conservation Commission & Recology Ashland.
