The Conservation Commission and Recology Ashland are sponsoring free urban composting classes. There will be four classes total, two basic (beginner) classes, one advanced class, and one featuring vermi-compost and the new Bokashi method.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Recycle Center located at 220 Water Street.
• Basic Class–June 20th or July 18th. Learn to compost food scraps & organic yard debris.
• Advanced Class–August 15th. General knowledge of composting is required.
• NEW Bokashi method & Vermi (Worm) Composting Class–September 12th. Both methods are great ways to make nutrient-rich fertilizer indoors or in limited spaces.
