RE: Detective Carrie Hull Awarded 2015 Professional Impact Award
On April 7, 2015 Ashland Police Detective Carrie Hull was awarded the prestigious Professional Impact Award by End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI). The award was presented to Detective Hull at the annual EVAWI conference in New Orleans, LA this morning. Detective Hull joins other prominent professionals, from around the nation, in receiving the award for her work on the department’s You Have Options Program. Specifically, according the EVAWI website, Detective Hull was honored with the award:
“For your driving force behind the department's "You Have Options" Program, which established a wide range of uniform procedures for victims of sexual assault to provide information to law enforcement. The procedures are designed to be explicitly victim-centered and based in an understanding of trauma and the impact on disclosure. Equally important are the innovative strategies designed to assist in the identification and prosecution of serial offenders.”
EVAWI is one of the most prominent organizations in the world dedicated to ending all gender-based violence and to holding those who commit such acts accountable.
The Ashland Police Department is very proud of Detective Hull for her continued dedication to furthering this goal.
