Re:   Upcoming Educational Opportunity for Members of the Community
 
The Ashland Police Department is pleased to offer another free class to members of the community. The class is called “Tips for Improving Home Security.”
 
This class is free and open to all members of the community. Class size is limited to 55 people so reserve a spot if you plan to attend. Through this class participants will gain a better understanding of home security and what steps they can take to help guard against burglaries. Topics covered will include:
 
            -how to protect you home (including a home security checklist)
            -21 things a burglar won’t tell you
            -how the lock on your door really works
            -where you should put your lights
            -how to protect your home while on vacation
            -how to secure your sliding glass doors, garage and windows
            -much much more
 
There will be two sessions of this class and each is expected to last approximately two hours. There will be a break in the middle, handouts and everyone will have a chance to ask questions if they like. This class is free, but space is limited to 55 participants, so participants need to call the department to reserve a spot. If interest exceeds space another session will be scheduled.
 
Where: City of Ashland Council Chambers, 1175 E. Main Street (right next door to the police dept.)
When: April 24, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m.
