The Ashland Police Department is pleased to offer a free class to members of the community. The class is called “Understanding the Internet and Safety Tips.”
 
While this class is open to all members of the community, it is specifically designed for senior members of the community who would like a better understanding of using the internet and how to guard against internet-based scams and computer viruses.
 
The class is free and will cover topics such as:
            -What is Spam
            -How does the Internet work
            -How do I know if I am on a secure site
            -What is a firewall and how does it work
            -Email safety tips
            -Internet surfing tips
            -Safety while shopping online
            -and more useful information

 
There will be two sessions of this class and each is expected to last approximately one hour. The classes will be held at The Grove. Attendees are asked to call and reserve a spot to ensure we don’t have to turn anyone away at the door. Please call the Ashland Police to make a reservation at 541-482-5211.  If there is substantial interest more classes will be scheduled.
 
Times: February 13, 2015 at 1p.m. and 6 p.m.
Location: The Grove, 1195 East Main St, across the parking lot from the Ashland Police Department
