July 4th parade spectators are asked not to place chairs, blankets and other placeholders on public property prior to 6:00 a.m. the morning of July 3. Please, do not use any plastic tarps.
Public property includes the median on Siskiyou Boulevard, park rows and curbs of Siskiyou Boulevard, as well as the Plaza and other public areas. Spectators place the items at their own risk. Items that create a safety hazard for pedestrians or vehicles will be picked up and disposed of. July 4 Fireworks
Fireworks, are not permitted to be used or sold in the City of Ashland. The prohibition on the use of retail fireworks began in 2010 and is prohibited throughout the year. Ashland citizens have been very cooperative in helping to prevent fires, injuries and risk to our natural resources. Ashland Fire & Rescue looks forward to the same cooperation this year.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the fireworks display sponsored by the Ashland Chamber of Commerce at 10:00 p.m. on July 4, at the SOU athletic fields. This event is viewable from most parts of Ashland. For more information see the Chamber's website at www.ashlandchamber.com
For the safety of citizens and guests in Ashland, the areas around the discharge site of the Ashland Chamber of Commerce's public fireworks display are closed to the public from 7:00am - midnight on July 4. During this time, no one is permitted in most areas from the bike path to Webster Street between Walker Avenue and Wightman Street.
