Emergency Prepared Business workshops

Ashland Fire & Rescue and Ashland Community Emergency Response Team are pleased to announce a new program aimed at providing skill-based training to local businesses to be prepared during disasters. We have partnered with the Ashland Chamber of Commerce to offer a series of free workshops open to the public aimed at informing and guiding businesses based on their uniqueness’s into professional preparedness by building a culture of readiness. The first session begins Wednesday, January 15 at Ashland Fire & Rescue Station 1 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.  Space is still available for owners, operators, and employees by calling 541-552-2226.
Session 1 workshop will focus on identification and assessment of hazards, risks, and human, property, and   business impact while assessing internal and external resource potential.  Assistance will be provided in developing a business safety statement and in gaining an understanding what is needed when your business is faced with a potentially disastrous situation.
Ashland businesses who participate to the full level of program participation will don an insignia in their storefront indicating they are a proud emergency prepared business. The program strides to build business sustainability through preparedness and leadership when disasters strike.
Future workshops include Wednesday, February 19 and March 19 from 5:30-7:30 PM at Ashland Fire & Rescue Station 1.
