Fire at Ashland Middle School

Ashland Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a fire alarm at Ashland Middle School at 11:06 a.m. on Monday, May 14. On scene, smoke was reported to be coming from a boys’ bathroom, and a second alarm structure fire response was activated. Damage from the fire was confined to the bathroom. Ashland Fire & Rescue, Jackson County Fire District 5, and Ashland Police Department responded to the fire.

Staff and students evacuated safely, and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Established in 1887, Ashland Fire & Rescue provides twenty-four-hour service and responds to over 3,500 calls each year in an area that exceeds 650 square miles.
