Police Press Release: Menacing Complaint

 On 11-2-12 at approximately 10:00 a.m. the Ashland Police Department responded to a complaint of a man armed with a gun at the Plaza Hotel on Central Street in the downtown area. The victim, a hotel employee, stated that she was approached by a man inside the hotel who pointed a handgun at her and threatened her.
The employee ran from the suspect and called the police. Officers from the Ashland Police, assisted by other agencies, conducted a full sweep of the hotel after the guests were asked to evacuate. In addition, the downtown area was thoroughly checked, and a county wide broadcast was put out to all police agencies.
As of this press release the suspect has not been found or identified. The suspect is described as a white male, in his 30ís, approximately 5í10Ē, with a goatee, wearing a long black coat with a hood, also wearing a dark baseball cap and sunglasses.
If anyone sees a person matching this description, they are encouraged to call 911 immediately.
