APD Press Release: Sexual Assault on Apr 29th

RE: Reported Sexual Assault
 
Ashland Police Case #12-1003
 
On April 29, 2012 a sexual assault of a teenage female was reported to the Ashland Police Department. The victim was interviewed on May 2, 2012 at the Child Advocacy Center in Medford by a forensic interview specialist. The investigation indicates that at approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 29, 2012 the victim was walking in the area of the rail road tracks near Shamrock Lane. A male subject approached her, attacked her and forcibly sexually assaulted her.
 
The suspect is described as an unknown race male, six feet or taller, dressed in heavy clothing (cold weather clothing), heavy jacket with a hood, big and scruffy beard, wearing a large pack, and appeared to be transient, or a traveler.
 
The Ashland Police will release a sketch of the suspect when it is available. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Ashland Police, or use the anonymous tip line 541-552-2333. There is an on-line tip form on the Department’s website as well.
