APD Press Release: Arrest of Burglary Suspect

RE: Arrest of suspects in burglary, robbery, theft and kidnapping incident
Ashland Police Case #12-93
On 4-23-11 the Ashland Police Department executed two search warrants in Medford in connection with the investigation of a burglary, robbery, theft and kidnapping that had been reported to the department in January of 2012 The search warrants were executed with the assistance of the Oregon State Police and the Medford Police SWAT Team due to the nature of the incident being investigated. One warrant was executed on Cherry Lane, and the other on Berrydale Street.
Both warrants were executed without incident or complication.
As a result of the warrant execution on Berrydale, a subject named Ryan Williams, 20 years old, was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on charges of burglary, theft, robbery and kidnapping. Several items were confiscated from the residence on Berrydale pursuant to the search warrant.
Another subject, Dylan Ashmun, 26 years old, was already in custody at the jail on non-related charges. Additional charges of burglary, theft, robbery and kidnapping were added for Ashmun as well.
In the original incident, the suspects appeared to target the victim specifically, as opposed to entering a house at random. During the initial incident, the suspects are believed to have entered the house, stated that they were armed, transported the victim to another section of the house, and demanded property from the victim. The victim was not harmed, and the suspects left with property belonging to the victim.
The investigation of this incident is ongoing.
