Spend an afternoon at the Swimming Reservoir and help Ashland Parks & Recreation to better serve you! Did you know there is a Swimming Reservoir in Lithia Park? The reservoir, which used to supply the City of Ashland with its drinking water, is fed by clean, cool Ashland Creek. The Ashland Parks & Recreation Department is working on a new map and brochure to help guide you to the reservoir and would like your feedback. On Friday, August 20, between noon and 4:00 pm, stop by the Ashland Parks & Recreation office in Lithia Park, located just past the top of Winburn Way, at 340 Pioneer Street. Pick up a draft brochure and map to the reservoir, along with a survey. Take the easy, ¾-mile hike from the office to the reservoir and deposit your completed survey in the drop box. Get a FREE POPSICLE for participating! Bring your swim suit, frisbee, and lunch, but please leave your dog at home! Swimming and picnicking are allowed from dawn to dusk and there is a bathroom, drinking fountain, and grass area at the reservoir. This project is a joint effort between Ashland High School (helping to fulfill the Senior Project requirements for two students) and the Ashland Parks & Recreation Department. Any and all input will be used to enhance visitor services in Lithia Park.
