PICKUP AND RECYCLE USED COOKING OIL

The City of Ashland is requesting proposals from qualified firms or individuals that have the equipment, experience and resources necessary to safely pickup and appropriately recycle used cooking oil.
The City of Ashland will provide an area approximately 7’ x 15’ within a covered storage building for the placement of containers to be used solely and specifically for used cooking oil. The door access to the intended area is approximately 55” wide. And, the covered storage building is located next door to the City’s Community Development building at 51 Winburn Way.
The successful contractor will be responsible for supplying and maintaining appropriate and adequately sized containers for disposing of used cooking oil. Your firm’s name and telephone number must be clearly visible on each container. Pickups will be scheduled in a manner that will consistently maintain an adequate and reliable disposal location for used cooking oil.
The successful contractor will be required to maintain an appropriate and consistent recycle process for the used cooking oil. The City of Ashland is required to know “who” all will be handling the used cooking oil and “how” the used cooking oil is intended to be recycled and for “what” use. And, if the recycle process changes while under contract with the City, the City will need to be kept up to date on any and all changes that are made to the recycle process.
The successful contractor will be required to maintain a valid City of Ashland business license.
The successful contractor will be required to provide and maintain valid Certificates of Insurance for General Liability, Commercial/Business Automobile and Workers’ Compensation, including the City of Ashland listed as additional insured.
The City of Ashland intends to award a contract for a period of two (2) years with the option to renew the contract for one additional year for a total of three (3) years.
