Brush & Grass Fire on Dead Indian Mem Rd
A grass and brush fire is currently burning near the 4000 block of Dead Indian Memorial Road east of the Ashland Municipal Airport. The blaze has consumed approximately 40 acres and is moving east, away from Ashland.
Both helicopter water buckets and tanker airplanes have been assigned to the blaze, along with ground personnel who are constructing control lines around the site for containment. Combined with the lower temperatures and humidity recovery this evening, it is anticipated that the blaze will soon be under control.
