The office of the City Recorder is only one of two elected positions in the State of Oregon. Barbara Christensen was elected to begin her term in January of 1995, and was recently re-elected to a further four year term in November of 2006 for a term ending December 31, 2010.

Barbara has lived in Ashland since 1983 and resided in Oregon for most of her life. She is very active in community volunteer groups for youth. Barbara has past experience in municipal government and many years of business management and accounting. She is an active member of the Audit Committee, and is the Investment Officer for the city as well as the Election Official.
