V.TYPE I REVIEWS
 
PLANNING ACTION:  PA- 2017-02219
SUBJECT PROPERTY:  455 & 435 Wightman St
APPLICANT:                Jim Conklin

DESCRIPTION:            A request for a Tree Removal Permit to remove one tree in the yard in front of the home at 455 Wightman.  The tree appears to be located across the lot line of 435 Wightman.  Both properties are owned by Mesa Enterprises and Jim Conklin. The tree, a Douglas Fir, has a main stem of 38” DBH (diameter at breast height) that stands approximately 80 feet tall. The application states the tree is in poor health and should be considered a Hazard Tree.  It is noted that the tree’s co-dominant leader is dead, large diameter limbs are dying, and that the base has borer, termite, and carpenter ant activity.

DESCRIPTION:            A request for Outline Plan Modification, Final Plan and Site Design Review approvals for a 33-unit, 28-lot Performance Standards Option subdivision, and Tree Removal Permit for the property located at 1068 East Main Street and the vacant parcel directly to the east.  As originally approved, the project consisted of 29-units.  The requested modification would add four additional apartments (all less than 500 square feet) to the original proposal, for a total of six small rental units.  The application also proposes to remove one additional tree which the applicants had originally proposed to preserve.

DESCRIPTION:             A request for a Street Tree Removal Permit to remove a 10-inch diameter Ash tree from the park row planting strip on the Abbott Avenue side of the property at 185 Brooks Lane.  The application notes that the tree is leaning significantly.
