SPECIAL MEETING
MINUTES

June 25, 2010

ATTENDANCE

Present:         Commissioners Eggers, Gardiner, Lewis, Noraas, Rosenthal; City Council Liaison Jackson; Director Robertson; Superintendents Dials and Gies; Planning Staff Brandon Goldman

Absent:       None

CALL TO ORDER

Gardiner called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. at the lower Clay Street property.

TOUR OF LOWER CLAY STREET PROPERTY

Goldman gave a brief background on the site and described the future appearance of the neighborhood. He said approximately 115 units were expected to be included at that location.

Robertson said the City would spend $80,000 on enhancements to one acre of wetland and would look to Parks for assistance with maintenance.

Commissioners and staff walked the site.

Gies provided background information on the YMCA field areas.

Discussion Among Commissioners

Commissioners discussed parking requirements for a future neighborhood park at that location. Eggers requested that the commission and staff revisit the Open Space Plan at a future study session. Noraas suggested using the site as a model of permeability.
