Calle Sculpture

The Group discussed the difficulty securing insurance for the two pieces and agreed that the best the City can do is include the artist in the city’s liability coverage.  The City is able to do so and both artists are in agreement.

Seltzer will finalize the artist agreement with the legal department, send copies to the artists for signatures.  Once the agreements are signed the installation can be scheduled.  The subcommittee will develop plans for the official unveiling, likely to occur in June.

Utility Box Project

PAC has received four submissions and had extended the deadline to May 29.  Edson will develop flyers about the project and distribute to the SOU, OSF and AHS.

Seltzer will provide mailing labels and invitation letters for the UB selection panel.  Markell, Longshore and Bussell will coordinate the mailing.  The Selection Panel will meet at 4:00 in the Siskiyou Room on Monday, June 8.

The PAC will present the selections to the Council on Tuesday, June 16.

Timeline

The PAC reviewed and adjusted the project timeline.

Public Art on Private Property

Markell reported that artist Keven Christman is interested in placing the angel sculpture in front of Sound Peace.  The PAC discussed the recent public art ordinance and the steps required to install art on private property.  Seltzer explained that the property owner needs to sign an agreement with the City which is being developed by the City Attorney.  The artist will present the proposal to the PAC, the PAC will follow the guidelines and criteria as stated in the PAC ordinance and make a final recommendation to the City Council.
