The PAC discussed the Lloyd Haines gift and acceptance criteria prepared by staff at the request of the PAC at the January meeting.  In addition to the discussion about criteria and next steps, the group discussed the wording that will appear on the plaque as well as the type of material for the plaque.  The PAC agreed that the plaque would include the title of the installation “Path to Joy and Unity”, the names of each of the four artist and the donor name.  Mr. Haines was invited to comment.  He expressed hope that the city would pay for the electrical installation.  The PAC replied they are requiring Mr. Haines to pay for the electrical, Haines agreed to do so in addition to assuming all other costs associated with the installation.

M/S Pugh/Longshore moved that the PAC make a recommendation to the City Council to accept the gift based on the criteria and conditions of acceptance drafted by staff.  All approved.  Staff will seek legal review of the criteria and conditions.  Baring any changes required by the legal department, the item will be placed on an upcoming council agenda.
