Chair Richard Benson called the meeting to order at 8:20.

Calle Phase II
Sculptures have been shipped and are in storage. Bayard will arrange for a local welder to install the sculptures on the pedestals. Bayard will also get the memorial plaque made and smaller plaques for each of the sculptures. Jackson suggested he check with Donn Todt in Parks as he is the person that arranges for the plaque for Tree of the year..

McGee memorial
Public Works is looking at the site to be sure that there are no utility lines underground and is waiting on one more report. Once the site is “clear” of any lines, the concrete pad will be removed and the contractor hired by the artist can begin excavation for the installation of the art.

It was noted that future RFP should require specific information about installation considerations.

Policy and Procedures
Gay will focus his attention on the chapter “accepting gifts” and “funding”, Benson will draft “deassion” and Seltzer will draft “artist contracts”. Markell, Benson and Gay will review drafts prior to February PAC meeting.

Budget/Master Plan
PAC reviewed examples of Public Art Master Plans from around the county. It was agreed to ask Administration to include $10,000 in the 2006?07 budget for master planning.

New Business
Jackson gave a brief update on the Snow Sculpture activities on Mt Ashland.
Seltzer, on behalf of Pugh, showed the group the article about Rio Amistad in the Ashland magazine. Pugh’s husband has offered to do an article on PAC for the spring issue.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.
