Commissioners Bayard, Jorgensen, Demele, Todd, Dvora, Krigel, Benson, Jackson (Council liaison), Seltzer (staff liaison) were present.

Approved minutes of July 2

Bayard led a discussion about formalizing the sub-committees as identified in the June 18 meeting. He encouraged the sub-committees to meet each month prior to the upcoming regular PAC meeting and to be prepared to give a brief update to the full commission. Meeting dates for sub-committees were then set.

The PAC went to the Gateway Island between the Library and the Fire Station to review possible locations for the placement of public art. The Commission identified three possible locations: the center of the large circular planting, the Astro sign and the retaining wall at the library. Benson made a motion, seconded by Kriegel and approved unanimously that the PAC make a formal request to Council asking for approval of the identified spaces for the placement of public art sometime in the future. The Commission will make the request at an upcoming regular Council meeting.

• Benson to draft formal request to Council.
• Bayard and Dvora will prepare a first draft of an Artist Agreement for consideration by the City Attorney by July 30.
• The August 6 and 20 PAC meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. rather than 8:00 a.m.
