Anyone wishing to submit written comments can do so by sending an e-mail to PC-public-testimony@ashland.or.us with the subject line “Advisory Commission Hearing Testimony” by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021.
If the applicant wishes to provide a rebuttal to the testimony, they can submit the rebuttal via e-mail to PC-public-testimony@ashland.or.us with the subject line “Advisory Commission Hearing Testimony” by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Written testimony received by these deadlines will be available for Tree Commissioners to review before the hearing and will be included in the meeting minutes.
Oral testimony will be taken during the electronic public hearing. If you wish to provide oral testimony during the electronic meeting, send an email to PC-public-testimony@ashland.or.us by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021. In order to provide testimony at the public hearing, please provide the following information: 1) make the subject line of the email “Advisory Commission Testimony Request”, 2) include your name, 3) specify the date and commission meeting you wish to testify at, 4) specify the agenda item you wish to speak to, 5) specify if you will be participating by computer or telephone, and 6) the name you will use if participating by computer or the telephone number you will use if participating by telephone.

PLANNING ACTION: PA-TREE-2021-00140
SUBJECT PROPERTY: Near 947 Mountain Meadows (Subject tree is located between two buildings)
OWNER: Mountain Meadows Parkside Condominium Association Inc
APPLICANT: Southern Oregon Tree Care
DESCRIPTION: A request for approval to remove one red maple (Acer rubrum) at Mountain Meadows. The application, prepared by an ISA certified arborist, indicates that the tree is 14”-DBH and stands approximately forty feet tall. The application explains that the tree is not well rooted based on the rocky nature of the ground, and that the height of the tree now exposes it to wind loads above the building. The concern is that a wind event may cause the tree to fail and potentially cause damage to the building. The application states the intent to mitigate the tree with a species better suited to the environment. DESCRIPTION: A request for a tree removal permit to allow the removal of a pine tree that was planted very close to the building at 2110 Siskiyou Blvd. The tree was planted so close to the building that it overhangs the pergola and nearly touches the building. The application states that this creates a fire hazard, which can only be mitigated by removing the tree.
